Philippe Coutinho’s future with Barcelona is still up in the air after latest reports suggesting the club still keen on selling. According to ESPNFC, Blaugrana remains open to talking about Coutinho’s potential sale next summer.
However, Barca won’t just agree to any number as they would like at least 90 million pounds for the Brazilian. Ernesto Valverde’s team bought Coutinho from Liverpool for around 105 million pounds in 2018.
Until now, the Brazilian has struggled to get a regular starting place at the Catalan side. That situation certainly not what Blaugrana were expecting when they signed him.
That situation pretty much triggers Barca’s management decision to consider cashing out on the midfielder. Although the player himself is still very keen on staying at Camp Nou next summer.
Moreover, Blaugrana recent expensive spending on Frankie de Jong means there’s less space at the club. Moreover, it also means Barca will need to make some sale to get them out of potential FFP issue.
It will be interesting to see whether there are any teams that are willing to spend that big amount for Coutinho. Although the Brazilian is talented, his price seems rather too high at the moment.
Nevertheless, the Brazilian decision next summer is another potentially interesting transfer move to check out.
